Lowcountry Charm:: Coastal Living Beach Showhouse

I adore this year's beach showhouse for Coastal Living on Daniel Island, South Carolina.
Not only is it located near one on my favorite places on earth, Charleston, SC, but it had a dream-team of architects and designers to create a fabulous beach house with some serious lowcountry charm.
While in Virginia last month, I had a chance to check out where the
2011 Beach Showhouse was located in East Beach, and I'm sure hoping I'll be able to go
check out this location on Daniel Island.

Both the front porch, back porch, and upper deck add so much charm
to this plantation styled home, making it perfect for entertaining friends and family.

Love the perfect view in the dining room and how it just looks like an extension of the porch
with the big windows and Piazza Blue ceiling.

(are we friends there?)

Newport Beach, California :: Beach House

Spotted this bright and cheerful beach home in Coastal Living Magazine.
Colorful patterns and bold accessories let this family's personality shine through
in their Newport Beach, California home. The talented designers were the sister
design team Karen Mathiesen Brown and Kristina Mathiesen.

I adore the Trina Turk for Schumacher fabric on the banquette.
And I really need to find me some large electric letters... too much FUN! ;)
What a comfortable and happy beach home.

Modern & Warm: A Balancing Act

Loved this article and photos found in Coastal Living on the balancing act of blending
different styles in this amazing Vero Beach, Florida home.
These photos are sure warm and inviting on a cold March day...
Russell Groves was the designer for this lovely home and is known for his clean, contemporary design. This home sure proves that modern and warm can blend perfectly.

Love this huge, shinny, nickel drum pendant light that hangs above the lovely circular
oak table. The wishbone dining chairs with rattan seats are amazing!
I want them in my dining room.

I love the juxtaposition of warm and cool colors, organic and sleek surfaces, and dark and light furnishings makes the rooms come alive. The camel colored leather framed mirror adds a warm note to the cool palette.  I love the wall paneling on both sides of the fireplace and think it adds interest to the white walls.

Pah-leez! This patio and pool surrounded by palm trees is quite amazing.
In my dreams...

Katherine Rally Pillows in Coastal Living

Once again, Katherine Rally Pillows were featured in Coastal Living...
I'm loving the design and colors used in this St. Barts hotel, La Banane.
The white, natural wood, and bright colors make an inviting and exciting
area to hang-out and relax.
Our bright, Bali, batik pillows fit right in this fun, and lovely paradise decor!

In their February 2012 issue, Coastal Living also featured an article explaining the difference between Batik and Ikat... both, of which are quite popular right now. I found it very interesting to learn the difference in design & material.  Check out our Batik Katherine Rally pillows from
Bali at our shop, Modern Palm!

Coastal Living Love

I adore this coastal Virginia home found in Coastal Living.
In fact, I love it so much, I want to move there! However, this Chesapeake neighborhood
almost seems too perfect... is that possible?
What a fun idea! Frame some bright colored flip flops as art, or maybe that is a painting...
can't tell, but whatever it is, it's cute.  I'm obsessed with that Duralee
dalesford yellow material that was used for the custom dining chairs. Love.

What a fun and unique ceiling, and that mirror is quite the fun statement piece.
I'd be happy to move right in to this fantastic coastal home.
