INSPIRING COLOR: ORANGE

Falling for Fall Colors
especially the
Inspiring Color:
Orange
Orange is  powerful, warm, energetic, and spicy. It is one of the healing colors,
and is said to stimulate enthusiasm and creativity. Orange means vitality with endurance, and curiosity. People who like Orange are usually thoughtful and sincere.
Orange has become a great base color for interior decor and can be
used in both traditional settings as well as modern.

Put some Orange in your life when you want:

*to spice things up when you feel time is dragging
*to become more involved in something
*to increase creativity
*relief from things becoming too serious

These are just a few examples of items found in
that are inspired by
Orange.

What I Love about this season:
Falling leaves. Cool breeze. Sweaters to wear. Harvest to share. Pumpkins. Football. Back to school. Full moon.
Frost soon. Family Feast... Lots to eat. Fall.

I hope you are enjoying this
wonderful season
and as you prepare for the holidays,
don't forget all of the unique and wonderful gifts

Designer Highlight: Jarlath Mellett

I discovered Jarlath Mellett in Lonny earlier this year and instantly fell in adoration with the classic contemporary, yet modern interiors. In 2005, seasoned fashion and interior designer
Jarlath created his design company and has an office in Manhattan
and a boutique shop in the Hamptons.
I would love to see this shop, I can only imagine how amazing it is!
Here are some images of some of my favorites from Jarlath Mellett.

Love this room with white, blue shinny and rustic. This coffee is off-the-charts awesome!

Loving the mix of the colors peacock and brown.

Loving Fall

Don't y'all just love fall? I love everything about it except for one thing...
it means that winter is around the corner. I wish that fall would last 4-5 months.
It is so perfect. Temperature, clothing, food, holidays, sports, etc.
I'm loving these inspiring fall photos that I've added to my Pinterest boards.

Coastal Living Love

I adore this coastal Virginia home found in Coastal Living.
In fact, I love it so much, I want to move there! However, this Chesapeake neighborhood
almost seems too perfect... is that possible?
What a fun idea! Frame some bright colored flip flops as art, or maybe that is a painting...
can't tell, but whatever it is, it's cute.  I'm obsessed with that Duralee
dalesford yellow material that was used for the custom dining chairs. Love.

What a fun and unique ceiling, and that mirror is quite the fun statement piece.
I'd be happy to move right in to this fantastic coastal home.

My Home: Dining Area

Here is my home dining area.
Now it may look a little funny to have the top shelves storing dinnerware and the
bottom shelves filled with bins and files, however, our dining area
also serves as our homework/art area.
In an attempt to be organized, I finally broke down and let the practical side rule,
and have tried to figure out a way to store our homework and art by our table.
The bins are from Ikea and hold the piles of work that the kids bring home.
*The dinnerware is from West Elm
Although these particular plates are no longer available, they always have fantastic dinnerware.
*Recycled Glass Vases West Elm
*Rug is from Ikea
*Porcelain Bananas from Modern Palm
*Iittala Dinnerware from Modern Palm

These happen to be the chairs that I spoke of earlier.
They are hanging on and some are broken and need to be replaced.
Earlier I shared some of my dream chairs.
There is a black bench on the back side.
Usually, I have the bench on the exposed side of the table, but my little 2 year old has
had a problem with it falling lately. He likes to climb all over everything and make things fall,
so I had to move it to the other side for safety purposes.

Caramel Popcorn

Here are a few of my Fall Favorite Recipes.
These are ones that I turn to as soon as the leaves start to change colors.

One thing is for sure... I love me some caramel popcorn.  Not just any popcorn.  I love soft, gewy, yummy caramel corn. This is a great and simple recipe that fits my criteria.

Caramel Popcorn

30 big marshmallows or 3 cups mini
1 cup margarine or butter
1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup corn and 3 Tbsp. oil
or
2 bags of the low butter or no butter, fat free popcorn.

pop the corn, then set aside.
melt marshmallows, margarine/butter, and brown sugar over stove on medium heat.
when melted pour over popcorn and stir.
Thoroughly enjoy!

Falling Into Fall Fashion

Falling Into Fall

Falling Into Fall by alisamodernpalmboutique

Here is a look I'm loving for this fall season.
Of course this is a "dream" fall outfit, however, it's always easy to copy the look
with more affordable items...
Hope y'all have a fabulous fall weekend! Any fun plans?
Like I said before, we are hoping to be able to see some beautiful fall leaves in the mountains,
and maybe we'll be able to squeeze in a pumpkin patch, or corn maze with the kids. I'm sure that there will be football games to enjoy, and I'm craving a Carmel apple...
apple pie flavor of course! :) Enjoy!
Thanks for visiting Modern Palm Blog and hope you'll browse the
Modern Palm Shop sometime this weekend!
