Mid-Century Photography by Slim Aarons

Yesterday I shared my love for a Shabby Apple Palm Springs photo shoot...
 and Speaking of Mid-Century chic...
I can't get enough of Slim Aarons Photographs.
He especially loved photographing Palm Springs, Palm Beach,
and any other pool and beach he could find.
Aren't these photos so retro, so cool, so perfect?

And in the spirit of the Palm Springs retro era,
here are some Palm Springs coffee table books that would add some
retro charm to any family or living room.

The Glow

Right now I'm inspired by the site The Glow. I just can't get enough of this little glimpse into the world of inspiring and fashionable moms. I could seriously browse all day...
On The Glow you'll find styling ideas, go-to gear, multitasking secrets, and, of course, decor.

There is really nothing like the love a mother has for her children... nothing. The Glow portrays that love through incredible photography, which I think speaks for itself. They could just use the photos with no writing, and we'd all still capture the story.

My favorite posts happen to be of the very talented Christiane Lemieux and Cynthia Rowely.
Christiane Lemieux is the founder and creative director of DwellStudio.  She has mastered the subtle art of undone glamour, both at work and at home.

Cynthia Rowley, a fashion icon, runs a global empire (fashion, home, books, band-aids!)
These are just a few of my faves. Check out The Glow for more inspiration from these lovely mothers and their beautiful children.

Photographer: Brian Ferry

So glad I discovered the photo collage below on Black*Eiffel.
I'm in love with the work of photographer Brian Ferry.
I adore the way he uses light and shadows.
He has raw talent and I could just look at his work for hours.

Wall Gallery Inspiration

Currently, I am working on a gallery wall.  I seriously L.O.V.E gallery walls. I have always been a fan of displaying photos, however, I'm running out of places to display. So, I have been wanting to put together a gallery wall forever, however, I have limited wall space, due to many windows.  I have been forced to move my gallery wall to the basement family room. My next decision I've been sitting on for-quite-sometime has been: what kind of gallery wall should I create?

Well, I have finally decided that in addition to family photos, I'd like to add important ancestor photos + important places.  I have an amazing selection of photos of my ancestors.  My favorites are these nostalgic and capturing photos of the wedding day of both sets of my grandparents. I've had them displayed in the library, but I want to add these and more to the gallery. Plus, I have a serious attachment to places I've lived and the memories I hold of these locations.  So, I want to add a few maps and symbols that represent these places and the important places to my hubby as well.
Right now, I'm in the phase of spray painting frames and gathering photos and maps... I will show you what I come up with in a week-or-so.  However, here are a few inspiration photos I've been gathering to help me with my project.
