Baby It's Cold Outside:: Ideas for Staying Warm

I don't know about where you live, but around here, it has been record breaking cold.
In fact, I don't remember the last time we've had this much snow!
We've been trying to go sledding and skiing as much as possible so we make the
best of our winter, but that means lots of bundling up and lots of hot coco!
I figured I'd share some of my favorite items to stay warm.
If you have some favorites, I'd love to hear what you're loving.
Please share & stay warm!
Oh! and by the way, a fun app I've been using is called
The Weather Mob :: check it out, it's fun!

Nantucket Style with Lynn Morgan Design

What is my obsession with Nantucket?
Not quite sure why I'm loving that lovely place so much lately...
Nantucket has so many great aspects... there is the historical and colonial downtown,
but there is also a fun and hip vibe, the calm and quite relaxing feel, beautiful beaches,
plus the beautiful gray and white beach homes.
There is a distinct Nantucket style, which says quite a bit for a small little island
30 miles off the coast of Cape Cod.
In my opinion, this home is pure perfection... and who is to be given credit for this perfection?

I'm dying over that fantastic table in the hallway. It is so natural, beachy, and imperfect.
I have become a fan of Lynn's designs and appreciate how natural, clean and crisp this home is,
but with a touch of whimsy and color.

INSPIRING COLOR: CHARTREUSE

*CHARTREUSE*
Chartreuse is the bright color between yellow & green.
It's fresh. It's fun. It's beautiful & springy...
and it looks fabulous paired with other colors like hot pink, navy, black,
gray, brown, turquoise, etc.
There is just so much to love about Chartreuse.

Pantone even added it to the color palette for fall fashion 2012 colors.

Add a dab of Chartreuse in small doses to freshen up your home for spring:

You could hang an apron or tea towel in your kitchen::

Or you could hang a fun market tote in your kitchen or mudroom.

(are we friends there?)

Beachside Home in Copenhagen

Last month Lonny Magazine featured a lovely beachside home from Copenhagen.
One of my favorite things about the home is the black frame and trim around the windows,
the black cabinets, and the black accents throughout the home.
The mix of white, black and natural wood is so timeless...
I can't get over the insanely beautiful staircase that leads to a black and white floor.
There is just so much design inspiration in this Scandinavian styled home.
