Whoopie Pies

So, I decided to attempt making Whoopie Pies for the Blogger Meet-n-Greet and I was glad I did! They were extremely yummy. So I first tried the Red Velvet with coconut frosting. I then did Red Velvet with vanilla butter cream frosting and added sprinkles, and my next batch was Chocolate with vanilla butter cream frosting and used different sprinkles .  It was fun, delicious, and now my kids ask me to make them every day. Ummm... that has yet to happen. But I already have a list of other Whoopie Pies from this recipe book found in Modern Palm, that I can't wait to try.

Photos from the Blogger Meet-n-Greet in Utah

Here are a few of my Instagram photos from last week's meet-n-greet...
we had a terrific turn-out, excellent food, and a lot of fun
chatting with everyone!
Shelby from Soel and Jane from See Jane Blog
for putting on such a fun party! Loved getting to know all of you
lovely ladies better and can't wait to do it again!
Thanks to Heather for the lovely designs for the party from
Milkglass and Honey and to Becky Kimball for taking lovely photos that I can't wait to see, because I'm sure they're 100 x's better than these
that I'm posting here...
Other lovely + talented ladies involved:

Here are a few prizes that I added to the loot for the many happy drawings that we had
for everyone that attended.

So I actually learned how to make these cute yarn pom poms... surprisingly supper easy
and fun to make! If you didn't get a chance to go, no worries, because we are planning on doing it again!
I'll let you know when that happens! :) Hope y'all have a lovely day!

Lovely Libraries Round Up

I am a huge, huge fan of Home Libraries...
I still believe in books.
Even with our wonderful technology and Kindles, iPads, computers, & books on CD...
I still love me a good book, and I still collect books as well.
Having a personal "library" was always a goal of mine, and although ours is nothing
compared to these amazing photos, it is still my favorite room in my home.
Here are just a few of my favorite library photos floating around the web.

I adore the use of the green curtain,
and how wonderful to have a room and collection large enough that you'd actually
have use for a ladder... I mean really. Amazing.

Never in my life have I seen a home library like the one pictured above...
I bet they don't have a clue what books are on their shelves, but that is one of the coolest rooms ever.
And I adore the idea of having the library above, kinda creating it's own floor. Genius.

Darling, cozy, colorful & fun. I want to hang out there!

Contemporary, chic & bright. Always a fan of a yellow sofa.

This is one of the most popular library photos out there... why?
Well, I think that we are drawn-in by the charcoal shelves, pink tulip chairs,
and whimsical shell chandelier...
It's such a warm, unique and inviting room.

Orrick & Company: Modern, Natural & Sophisticated

This Über talented design firm has become one of my absolute favorites...
You can tell that they know what design is. Their designs are sophisticated,
clean, natural, inspiring, and all have that oomph factor!
These photos have quickly become some of my favorite in the design world.

There is an underlying theme in all of these rooms... a big natural element that adds
texture and something interesting to each room.  I would really, really love some new blinds!
I especially would love these natural blinds pictured below..

Katherine Rally Pillows in Coastal Living

Once again, Katherine Rally Pillows were featured in Coastal Living...
I'm loving the design and colors used in this St. Barts hotel, La Banane.
The white, natural wood, and bright colors make an inviting and exciting
area to hang-out and relax.
Our bright, Bali, batik pillows fit right in this fun, and lovely paradise decor!

In their February 2012 issue, Coastal Living also featured an article explaining the difference between Batik and Ikat... both, of which are quite popular right now. I found it very interesting to learn the difference in design & material.  Check out our Batik Katherine Rally pillows from
Bali at our shop, Modern Palm!
